1) Stay actively positive
I know you know this..
but it is so necessary to stay positive if you are going to have a great attitude.
Try to do a 95-5% ratio.
Always look for the good things that you have to accomplish on the field.
The 5% is enough to dwell on bad stuff...
but you do not need more.
Train this, believe in this. It is important.
2) Your self-talk needs to rock!
Your inner dialogue/self talk is critical for how your attitude can become better and better.
A lot of people do not know that their internal dialogue is very negative.
That's the first step; to notice if your self-talk is positive or negative?
You want to try something totally new and totally different?
Start thinking about your negative emotions as a guiding system for yourself.
So every time you feel a negative emotion stop and explore yourself...
What has been your thoughts right before this moment...
How has your self-talk been before this negative emotion?
When you find the negative self-talk...
Try to replace those thoughts with something that feels a little bit better.
I call it “a little better thought.”
It doesn't have to be perfect. Just find a thought that may be feeling a little bit better.
Take it step by step.
3) You imagination are there to kick start your future
Imagination is something we use every day...
Sometimes without you even knowing it.
It has to enormous power...
It is there to create your life.
It starts with your imagination and then it becomes physical.
Many people make the mistake of calling it just imagination.
And of course when we were kids some people told us that it was just our imagination...
or fantasy.
So we stopped using our imagination.
In sports...
However...
for longtime coaches and leader has been saying that it's no real difference between...
imagination and reality...
and you can use that to your advantage if you want to become great in sports.
To our consciousness, it's no difference between what we consider a reality...
and our imagination.

Hey there! I'm Maria Lindstrom and I teach sportspeople how to get a great attitude to become better in their game. Through my workshops, webinars and individual coaching, I've helped thousands of people get better results. I have been a mental fitness coach, both on and off the tennis court, since 2002. I played on the WTA Tour for 11 years. My best ranking was 87 (single) and around 30 in doubles. I represented Sweden at the Olympics in 1992. I was elected to the Hall of Fame after playing college tennis for two seasons in Monroe, LA. I have been the Swedish Fed Cup associate coach and the under 16 national coach.
